Wedding Tip #111 Traditionally, the Bride changes her last name to her husband's last name. An alternative to this is for the bride to continue to use her maiden name, or hyphenate her maiden name with her husband's last name (long hypenated names may have problems completing forms with insufficient space). Another alternative to this is to create a new surname, sometimes by combining parts of each person's last name (example: "Shore" marrying "Harrington" would become "Shorington") for both the Bride and Groom to use.
